Article 2: Performance evaluation benefits

Performance evaluation, additionally referred to as performance assessment, is an accurate and organized method for maintaining record of and analyzing behaviors connected to a the individual's work in order to understand why they do what they do and what they could do better.(Brucks, 1985)

Performance reviews are useful for both the company and the worker. The rewards of performance evaluations may be separated into two main groups: (Singh, 2015)

·         Benefits for the organization

·         Benefits for the employee



Benefits of evaluations of performance for workers.

1.      Strengthening of performance.

The objective of evaluation processes is to improve employees' levels of performance. (Employee Performance Appraisal: advantages as well as disadvantages 2014). It improves an employee's personality, modern technology skills, and job passion while additionally helping with boosting performance. Performance evaluation is therefore an essential technique in an organization when considering such advantages into perspective. (Lavanya and Kumar, 2019).

2.      Improvement for the staff member

Evaluation systems indicate which employees require more training and become the main source for information on the skills and potential of the workforce as a whole. Additionally, it advises the employee of both their strengths and weaknesses. The employee gets some self-asset as an outcome. (Singh, 2015).

3.      Appropriate Position

Considering the results of the performance assessment system, an employee can choose the perfect position. (Lavanya and Kumar, 2019).

4.      Improve their productivity

Employees will get the results of the performance evaluation system, that will help them in improving their performance and their professional growth. In addition, managers may give workers guidance on how to grow their careers. (Murphy and Cleveland, 1995).

5.       Individual development

Employees obtain fresh skills as a result, helping them perform effectively in their professional lives. Additionally, it encourages staff to take on challenging tasks. (Singh, 2015).

6.      As an inspiration

Because every employee wants to accomplish good performance results, reviews of performance help all employees in obtaining more enthusiastic in their own job. (Sharon Lea Green, 1992).

Benefits for the organization

1.      Establishing plans for programs of training

It assists the HR department organize and develop training programs because workers' abilities and weaknesses are examined. The proper training is provided to the employees at the right time to assist them develop their particular areas of strength and overcome their weaknesses as well. According to the requirements of the human resource pool, instructional materials and technique can be adjusted. (Armstrong and Taylor, 2020).

2.      Develops Communications Among Employees and Management:

Furthermore, evaluations of performance offer staff members an opportunity to talk with their managers regarding issues at work and find alternatives. Performance of staff members is considered into account while making promotions and transfers. Communication between employees and management gets enhanced via fair promotion and transfer methods. In addition, it promotes an encouraging work environment, which straight away improves the standard of the result. (Sandler and Keefe, 2003).

3.      Transfers and Promotions

An employee's abilities and shortcomings are identified during performance evaluation, which allows the organization decided which employees to promote and transfer based on how they perform. (Eder, 1982).

In conclusion

I am employed by an established company that manufactures tires made of rubber for automobiles as well as vans, in early 2019 even though the management established a number of objectives for every department in its annually budget suggestions. Nevertheless, it was difficult to achieve that consistently. in addition, The level of administrative involvement with the organization's activities is fairly limited. At some point, it was proposed to establish an annual performance evaluation system to evaluate employees, and management eventually came to understand that this could make it easier for employees to meet their objectives than in previous years.

    According to a study, using evaluation subjectivity, such as increases in employee productivity and pay satisfaction, depend on characteristics of the situation in which it is implemented. Also important is a significant level of trust between the managers and their supervisors. Performance evaluation is a key element in the HPT model and can affect many different management activities like job assignments, promotions,bonus awards and performance intervention.
